Early reggae at it's sweetest.

"This collection represents reggae during it 's "rocksteady" period (1966-70). This was where sweet intstrumentation mixed with lovely harmonies combined to make tunes that you could both listen to and dance to for equal enjoyment. This is well-represented in tunes like "Swing and Dine," Everybody's Bawling," and the original "The Tide Is High." However, a forecast of things to come appears in Prince Buster's classic message tune "Judge Dread." This powerful indictment against Black-on-Black crime is (sadly) just as relevant today as it was in 1967 and predates the strong messages that reggae would soon become associated with. Buy this and enjoy."
