CD Reviews

An age-appropriate cd

"Very age appropriate. Disney does a good job of offering "clean" popular music that a parent doesn't have to worry about."
Very pleasant

"I have seen better days in Radio Disney. But finally, this version of Radio Disney Jams is the best ever! (okay, and no. 5). It begins with Alyson and Amanda Joy Michalka with their song "Do You Believe In Magic"; that was previously heard on Disney Channel. B5 is featured with Mr. C's Cha Cha Slide and Rihanna's Pon De Replay. Disapointments here were Jesse McCartney and Crazy Frog's annoying as ever song. The Cheetah Girls have Shake a Tail Feather from Disney's Chicken Little, and Hilary Duff has Fly. Devo 2.0 and The Click Five also contribute to this CD."
Squeaky Clean And Features Potential Stars

"Radio Disney "Jams," vol. 8 is a nice compilation disc of kid-friendly (and edited when necessary) popular tunes. Unlike the sometimes wretched "Kidz Bop" discs, which feature rather annoying vocals instead of the original artists' work, "Jams" gives kids songs as performed by artists they know and love. From Jesse McCartney to Hilary Duff to Everlife, you may not have heard of some of these artists but your elementary school and tween-aged kids have. The disc opens with Aly and A.J. covering "Do You Believe In Magic." It's a very solid cover that actually reveals some solid talent on the part of these young ladies. Other artists featured primarily on either Radio Disney or the Disney Channel include Skye Sweetnam and the Cheetah Girls, who perform "Shake A Tail Feather," from the "Chicken Little" soundtrack. Everlife really shines on "Go Figure" and probably have the most potential to become future major stars in the pop industry. All of the tunes by youngsters on this disc are solid and infectious pop tunes. The only letdowns come via established artists such as Jesse McCartney and Rihanna. Their respective tunes fall flat in comparison to the rest of this disc.

A second disc featuring videos from Aly and A.J., Hilary Duff, Jesse McCartney, Skye Sweetnam, and the Cheetah Girls is also included. These are especially good to have around for young ones to try and copy dance moves and sing along with the songs.

Overall this is an unusually solid pop album that only falters when established popsters take the stage. It's perfectly edited (where needed) and parents need not worry about any questionable lyrics. It's even good enough to play when the kiddies aren't around. I recommend this album to anyone who has a child between the ages of five and fifteen or anybody who's a fan of Radio Disney."
