Synopsis

Album Description
Power Up! is like nothing you've ever experienced before. An elite team of fearless musicians have paid tribute to the trend-setting music of the Nintendo Entertainment System. They're taking you to a world where few have dared to tread, but they ain't gonna be holding your hand. This musical adventure ain't for the weak. Cheat codes and a second-rate genie can't help you. Super-sized joysticks won't be an advantage here. Only the truly daring will be willing to face the challenges held within. It's up to you to face them head-on. Can you live without your Power Up!? Are you game?

Not quite The Advantage
D. Owen | Greensboro, NC USA | 02/08/2008
(3 out of 5 stars)

"I do not own this but a friend recently bought it. As a huge fan of "The Advantage" I was anxious to hear some other bands' takes on NES music.

Unfortunately most of what I heard were songs that "The Advantage" had already covered on either of their first two albums. I suppose you can only do so much when the original source material is a collection of blops and boops but the similarities were startling.

That said, this is still a fine trip down memory lane for any child of the 80's but all-in-all I prefer "The Advantage" and they're musical takes."
