Unfortunately, most follow up compilations such as this (Playboy issued JAD I a few years ago) are usually never as good as the original and are just an attempt at a quick cash-in. Thankfully this is not the case with JAD II. If anything, this one improves on the original. Like JAD I, this 2-cd set consists of one instumental disc and one vocal. The selections simply never miss and the mood is sustained throughout. Playboy may have made sex mainstream, but this music is all romance with just a hint of naughty. Here's hoping JAD III continues in this superlative tradition. In the meantime, shuffle both JAD I and JAD II and you've got nearly four hours of some of the greatest American music ever recorded.
