With The PJs--an animated TV series revolving around the residents of the Hilton Jacobs housing projects, starring the voice of Eddie Murphy--a modest hit, the powers that be decided to crank out a "soundtrack" to the show... more ». In truth, the show, which aired just a handful of episodes prior to the album's release, is not music-heavy, but who could resist the merchandising? While the soundtrack boasts several commercially successful rap and R&B artists (Jermaine Dupri, Da Brat, Timbaland, Destiny's Child and Snoop Dogg), the majority of tracks rest at a subpar level. Two exceptions include Raphael Saadiq and Q-Tip's soulful "Get Involved" and the Goodie Mob's "Hat Low," a bouncy, beat-saturated assault. And for the listeners who would consider back-to-back Bizzy and Krayzie B.O.N.E. songs ideal, The PJs soundtrack offers a delectable Bone Thugs-n-Harmony delight. --Celine Wong« less

"I am very disappointed in The PJs soundtrack. The PJs is an outstanding show and I purchased the soundtrack in hopes that it would be the same. The only true gems on the entire CD are "Get Involved" by Raphael Saadiq featuring Q-Tip and "PJs" by P-Funk icon George Clinton. If these two tracks were released as singles, I would not have purchased this CD."

"the others are ok, but the best song on here is "Get Involved" by Q-tip. I couldn't find that song anywhere and when I found it I practically screamed."
