CD Reviews

Much better than Volume One
Adam Naworal | Florida USA | 04/24/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"MDIV2 suceeds where its predecessor failed. volume 1 had fartoo many "iffy" tracks (Laika, for instance, sounded morehouse than dub). volume 2 is pure dub. ranging from Bill Laswell's chillout music to the hardstep of Alec Empire on disc one, and from Skull's schizo track through Third Eye Foundation's trademark weirdness and the incredible Ice remix of a country song by Palace (!) on disc two, this is some serious hardcore dub. and yes, Alec Empire's track is dub; it's just HIS version of it... MDIV2 is hard to beat."

"An awesome mix of styles and influences make this album a dark, dread epic into the outer reaches of dub. Primal mindfunk."
Way ahead of its time

"A truly abstract dub collection, and simply the best one that ever was. I am writing this review ten years after this CD was released, and it hasn't aged a day. Some of the most creative thinking you will find in electronic music, very advanced concepts here."
