CD Reviews

I wish I could give this CD ten stars....

"This is really my very favorite jazz CD. I bought it last summer when I thought the guy I was dating was going to propose. We broke up, but I still love the CD! It has some slow, romantic songs, and some songs that make you want to dance. It's just funny that I have to hide it whenever a new guy comes over (wouldn't want to scare anyone!) and I always wish I could share it because it's so great! Especially the first track "My One and Only Love", it would make the perfect first dance song. Please, buy this CD if you like jazz at all, even if you're not getting married!"
Just OK CD

"What took me by surprise about this CD was the lack of vocals in the songs. Tracks 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, 14, and 15 had no vocals whatsoever, which comprises about half of the CD and you can't tell this from the music list that they give here. However, I must admit the music is very good and the ones that do have vocals are good as well. If you don't care about vocals as much as I do or just want a mix of vocals/instrumental music, this CD is great for you."
Wonderful!

"The previous reviewer who didn't like the sound quality must not realize that these recordings date back to the '30s. They didn't have digital recordings then. Part of the charm of recordings from this era is the fuzziness. It's part of jazz history. We loved this cd and chose our first dance song from it: "My One and Only Love"."
