Now that's what I call percussion!

""Super Percussion of India" is a fairly silly title for an excellent CD of ethnic music. This disc features performances on the tabla (a type of drum), the ghatam (described in the liner notes as a "jar shaped instrument"), the kanjira (a type of tambourine), and the mridangam. The final track on the CD combines an interesting spoken word lesson on Indian percussion with a practical demonstration. The music on this CD crackles with energy, and at times has an almost hypnotic quality. With the exception of the spoken word portion, this CD is basically pure percussion. A good choice for those with an interest in international music."
