One of my favorite CDs
G. W. Hall | Redwood City, CA USA | 11/10/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)
"If you're into cars, American Roots, and rockabilly, this is a great compilation of songs about cars, car racing, relationships affected by cars, and more. I've listened to this CD more than any other CD I have. It's perfect for swing dancing or wrenching in the garage. Favorite tracks are "Spinner Hubcaps," "Ford and Shaker," "A Hot Rodders Dream," and "Big Green Car.""
Hot Rod Greaser Music!
Cool Cat | Springfield, OR USA | 12/24/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)
"All these tracks are hot with the smell of burning oil and smoke off spinning tires. It is pure pomade shine down dirty Rockabilly for a subject all greasers hold close to their hearts: Hot Rods! This is music for draggers, cruisers, hub cap stealers, and Juvinile deliquint hoods. Some tracks you will recognize like "Green Car" which the modern Rockabilly band Polecats redid. Others are undescovered tracks like "Brake Jake" by Mike Fern which is wild. Another song has a modern Robin Hood Greaser in his Hot Rod stealing from the Rich and giving to the Poor. I'm telling you cats no crew or car club can do without it. You like your Rockabilly like your Hot Rod Sharp, Loud and Nasty then get this album and rev it up."
