The most fascinating thing about the music contained on this collection is that there is only a very small difference in the way that it is performed than much of the black music of the same era. It is important to remember when listening to the recordings on this CD that both the 6 string electric guitar and electric steel guitar were fairly new instruments at the time. This was cutting edge music and these guys were trailblazers and their Hillbilly Boogie was definitely one of the roots of Rock 'n' Roll.
