Fun, Earnest Early 1960's Pop/Rock 'n Roll

"This one of course just features the guys - while most of the names didn't have long careers - this is still an excellent roundup of early 1960's rock 'n roll. All the songs are earnest - nothing too indepth other than the girl next door or the girl who just broke their hearts - but it's all fun. About 40% of the tracks are "remakes" but of course, that was pretty common then but since they weren't remaking classic tracks you know in an instant, it all still sounds fresh.
If you're a collector of early rock 'n roll - you'll definitely want this disc. The only thing missing is some real forgotten gem - so while there's nothing you'd put in the Top 100 tracks of all time, this disc does show all the talent out there with regional or local hits - solid and fun but not quite brilliant enough to break through nationally.
The sound quality is excellent on these tracks."
