CD Reviews

Decent, but could have been so much more!

"I'm slightly disappointed with this third issue of "Fired Up." It features too many U.S. Pop songs that are not that great in a slower or faster context, the main offender being the mundane single by "Since U Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson. So many of the songs on Disc 1 have been overplayed by radio, especially in the Northeastern U.S., so many who have the CD-singles to such singles as "Milkshake" by Kelis, "Crazy In Love" by Beyonce, "Something" by Lasgo, etc., you don't need this CD. There are song noteworthy singles here such as Deborah Cox's #1 Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart hit and Rhythmic format radio hit, "Something Happened On the Way To Heaven", the U.K. #1 hit and "Call On Me" by Eric Prydz, "One Word" by Kelly Osbourne, her big Stateside Club hit, "I Wish I Didn't Miss You" by Angie Stone and "I Like It" by Narcotic Trust. The lesser singles should have been replaced by higher quality songs have were original produced for the Rhythmic/Dance radio format such as Kylie Minogue 2004/2005 Stateside club hits and internation Pop chart smashes, "I Belive In You" #3 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play and "Giving You Up", Amber-"Just Like That" the (Jason Nevins Radio Edit), Suzanne Palmer-"Luv 2 Luv", Jody Watley-"Whenever", Anna Vissi-"Call Me", "My Time" by Dutch feat. Crystal Waters, Kristine W.-"Save My Soul" and Donna Summer-"I Got Your Love." All of those hit singles would have been vastly superior hits by solo artists to be included on this third volume of "Fired Up." The superior two disc version of "Fired Up 3" features a second disc of awesome Stateside Club hits and mainstream European Pop chart hits such as "Love On My Mind" by Freemasons feat. Amanda Wilson, "Lola's Theme" by Shape U.K., "And She Said" by Lucas Prata, "Come Rain Come Shine" by Jenn Cuneta and many more! Overall, this one disc version of "Fired Up 3" is decent at best with far too many remixes of mostly mundane and bland Pop songs to be taken seriously by lovers of the Electronica/Dance genre. I suggest any albums in the "Circuit Boy" series if you want more Electronica/Dance genre hits and less pop song remixes. Get the better two disc version instead if you desire. Hope this review is helpful to you."

"I have purchased the previous Fired Up! releases in the past and haven't had a single complaint on them until now. This CD, Fired Up! 3, is the worse of them all. There are 18 total songs on the CD and I'd say about 13 of them are good. I don't hate this CD, don't get me wrong, it's just that they try to turn to many slow songs into a fast moving techno song. My favorite track on the CD is number 9, "Into The Groove" by Mad' house. I mean seriously, how can you turn Christina Aguileras "Beautiful" into a techno song. Anyways, I'd recommend the CD if you like techno because like I said, half is AWESOME and half is CRAP."
Completely worth the excessively cheap price...

"I've listened to this hot disc 25 times in the last 3 days.

My fave? Gay Dance Goddess Deborah Cox with her dancealicious remake of "Something Happened On the Way To Heaven", originally an 80's chart topper for Phil Collins, and remixed by the effortesly talented Valentin.

I've had that song on repeat for the last 45 mins.

A bit of a fanatic, huh?

But not in the Glenn Close "bunny in the pot" way. ;)

Toss in the sexy soulful voiced Christina Aguilera with her GLAAD award winning "Beautiful"... hottie Adam Levine and Maroon 5 with "This Love (and another of their singles mixed in)... and another Vixen of Soul, Angie Stone with "Wish I Didn't Miss You" and you have a great spinner.

For you 80's lovers of Madonna, U2, Steve Winwood, and Boy Meets Girl... that makes it a well-rounded disc.

Add Beyonce, Britney, Kelis, Lasgo, Kelly, Thrusting of Narcotics, Miss Osbourne and, well...

You'd have to be headless to not enjoy this disc and play it at your next party.

Cheers to Karen Walker... she of the "headless" horsevixenz.

Of course, Amazon delivers on the price. They always do.

Cheers and shakes of the tail featherz -
