Don't Miss This Musical!
Rosanne Hickey | Clearwater, FL United States | 04/12/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Emmanuel is an excellent, upbeat, intense musical portrayal of the life of Christ. While it is intended for a Christmas celebration..I received it initially just prior to Easter and fell in love with the outstanding music, vocals and the most important portrayal of the message of Christ. I've heard so many and participated in choirs for years.. this one is special!! Don't miss it!"
A classic recording in Christian Music

"Unbelievably powerful musical on the life of Chirst, following the format of "Handel's Messiah", but definitely in a contemporary setting with classical touches. There simply is not a bad track on this album. Everything, from the songwriting, to the arrangements and orchestrations, to the performances, is sheer perfection. Some of the vocal pairings are unexpected, but work very well together. Sandi Patty and Susan Ashton blend beautifully on "Is This Not the Carpenter", Clay Crosse and Point of Grace shine on "Follow the Star", and Michael W. Smith and Amy Grant turn in a lovely version of the often-recorded title song. Add full choirs and orchestras, and you have a classic album that will move you like few others will."
