CD Reviews

Magnificent ESL collection
J. Raid | Tallinn Estonia | 07/06/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Inside booklet was written that songs are listed the way as they are played in parties at eighteenth street lounge. Record starts off with 70's funky grooves and as the evening matures tunes are getting deeper. starting from Nightmares on Wax track, music takes listeners to pure nirvana. cool, chilled dancemusic with latin/dub flavor. quality stuff."
Awesome

"Another one of those trip-hop/jazz compilations that just won't leave the CD player. An eclectic blend of smooth cuts from Thievery Corp, Nightmares On Wax, and others, perfect for coming down from a fast night of drinking too much and sobering out. The song by Cool Blue (track 9, not 10) is just so chill, it sends shivers and Dub Tractor's "104 Dub" has that ambient groove to it...way cool."
Isabelle is the best

"I'm a french girl leaving in L.A and I didn't know Isabelle Antena before this compilation. Not only her track (the opening one) is the best of the CD , but I discovered her best of album (l'alphabet du plaisir) and she's one of the greatest bossa singer I've ever heard.A real diva."
