CD Reviews

Not just another :oldies" album!!

"After searching many nights on the net,I found an album with a cut by Little julian herrera and the Tigers. This comp. was made with T,L.C. , the album is a joy! I grew up on the East Coast and have a fair record collection, however fifty percent of these songs are new to me. I reccomend vol. 1 and intend to buy vol. 2 &3 in the near future."
You don't have to live in East L.A. to enjoy this sound!

"I grew up in Miami's Little Havana in the 1960's, so I can relate to a lot of this material. But you don't have to be Latino - or grow up in the sixties - to appreciate and enjoy the fine sounds of "Brown Eyed Soul". "Together" by Tierra (a bona fide hit in 1980) is by itself worth the price of the CD. There are also great cuts by brown eyed soul brothers Ritchie Valens, Thee Midniters, El Chicano and Little Julian Herrera as well as War, Tony Clarke, and Brenton Wood. Back in the old days, we used to call the radio station, ask the DJ to play these songs, and make dedications. Now we can just play the CD and deliver the dedications in person."
