Bring It!
01/28/2005
(3 out of 5 stars)

"Bring It! really delivers the whole '90's hip-hop vibe. It has its flaws, but it does deliver some nice music. I also wish it wasn't edited, it gets annoying.

1.)Get Ur Freak On - Missy Elliott

Classic. Nice beat provided by Timbaland. This song really propelled Missy's career to a different level at the time. (4.5/5)Also recommended: "I'm Really Hot" - Missy Elliott

2.)Shake It Fast - Mystikal

You can't really understand Mystikal's cajun slang during the song. Personally, I'm not a big fan of Mystikal, and this song is sort of a re-hash of pretty much everything on the radio.

(2.5/5) Check instead: "Back That Thang Up" - Juvenile

3.)Can't Deny It - Fabolous Feat. Nate Dogg

Catchy. This song was different at the time. Since Nate Dogg has been on like 80 songs since, i'm kind of sick and tired of hearing him. Although, Fabolous really delivers. (3/5) Also Reccomended: "Oh No" - Mos Def and Pharoahe Monch Feat. Nate Dogg

4.) I'm a Thug - Trick Daddy

I love Trick Daddy, he's one of my favorite MC's. BUT, not when he's edited out. You can't hear much, since of this songs dumb amended lyrics. Still, I LOVE THIS SONG!! Catchy. (4/5) Also reccomended: "Still Tippin'" - Mike Jones Feat. Slim Thug and Paul Wall "In Da Wind" - Trick Daddy Feat. Big Boi and Cee-Lo

5.)Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See - Busta Rhymes

Classic, classic, classic! Busta delivers some of his best work on this song. It's a spooky, infectious song. (5/5) Also reccomended: "Woo-Hah!" - Busta Rhymes Feat. Rampage The Last Boy Scout "Flava In Ya Ear Remix" - Craig Mack Feat. Notorious B.I.G., LL Cool J, Rampage The Last Boy Scout and Busta Rhymes

6.) Grindin' - Clipse

Classic Neptunes beat. Clipse's lyrical delivery is unstoppable on this track. Love it. (5/5) Also Reccomended: "Drop It Like It's Hot" - Snoop Dogg Feat. Pharrell Williams "Grindin' Remix" Clipse Feat. Baby, Lil' Wayne and N.O.R.E.

7.) Deja Vu' (Uptown Baby) - Lord Tariq and Peter Gunz

Another CLASSIC! So catchy and its just a feel good song about where Hip-Hop came from! BX!!! (5/5) Also reccomended: "Feel Me Flow" - Naughty By Nature "John Blaze" - Big Pun Feat. Nas, Raekwon, Jadakiss and Fat Joe

8.) Superwoman Pt. II - Lil' Mo Feat. Fabolous

Fab's second appereance on the album. An OK song. Kind of generic. (3/5) Check instead: "Baby" - Fabolous Feat. Mike Shorey

9.) Raise Up - Petey Pablo

I love the beat. Petey Pablo was grimy on this one, no "Freek-a-Leek" straight street on this one. He represents North Carolina and Virginia with some help from Timbaland. (4/5) Also reccomended: "Tear Da Club '97" - Three 6 Mafia "Never Scared" - Bonecrusher Feat. Killer Mike and T.I.

10.) Never Scared - Bonecrusher Feat. Killer Mike and T.I.

Classic crunk. Bonecrusher just is nuts, Killer Mike delivers also. But the man who steals the spotlight is T.I., with an impressive performance. Good work. (4.5/5) Also reccomended: "Bia' Bia' 2" - Lil' Jon and the Eastside Boyz Feat. Chyna White and Too Short Basically every Lil' Jon song. "Ante Up" - M.O.P.

11.)Ante Up - M.O.P.

The best song on this entire album. Truly grimy hip-hop at its finest. EXCELLENT WORK. (5/5) Also reccomended: "Same Team No Games" - Gangstarr Alot of songs on Gangstarr's "The Ownerz" album.

12.)Superthug (What, What) - N.O.R.E.

N.O.R.E. delivers the wake-up call of Hip-Hop in the 90's, as did DMX. Love this track, true thug stuff. (5/5) Also reccomended "Take a Look at My Life" - Capone "Nothin'" - N.O.R.E.

13.)Crush On You - Lil' Kim

Skip. (2.5/5) Check instead: "Get Money" - Junior M.A.F.I.A.

14.) Get Money - Junior M.A.F.I.A.

A good song, great performance by the late great Notorious B.I.G.

R.I.P. (3.5/5) Also reccomended: "Juicy" - Notorious B.I.G.

15.) Cold Rock a Party - MC Lyte Feat. Missy Elliott

Skip. (2.5/5) Check instead: "Shoop" - Salt n Pepa

16.) My Baby Daddy - B-Rock

Okay. Why is this even on here? (1/5) Check instead: anything else.

17.) We Tryin' To Stay Alive - Wyclef Jean

Eh, its alright. (3/5) Also reccomended: The whole Fugees album.

18.) Got Your Money - ODB Feat. Kelis

A good closing to this flawed album. R.I.P. ODB (5/5)

Overall, I suggest you buy The Game, "The Documentary" or a hip-hop classic like Nas, "Illmatic" or Wu-Tang Clan "Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)" You should burn "Bring It" it really isnt worth buying..."
