Given the period, Anderson had a wealth of fond, cheesy pop to choose from (hence Vol. 2). Aside from a few shop-worn cuts (Hot Chocolate's "You Sexy Thing," perhaps the most overexposed '70s hit of 1997), the remainder are notably fresh. The music takes you through the life of Dirk Diggler through the ups and downs of his life. The only thing lacking is that several songs were left off the cd including the classic Fleetwood Mac song "Tusk" and Devo's "Jerkin Back And Forth" which are included on the DVD version of the film.
