Synopsis

Album Description
Part based on the club listings of the early 70?s and part based on the club listings of today, this compilation has the dance floor groovers with a bit of strum, a bit of stomp, and a whole lotta Glam. You?ve probably never heard of any of the artists, but those collecting the Lipsmackin? series appear to be used to that now. In fact as with one recent review of Volume 5 (Bubble Pop) they get a bit miffed if any of the tracks were a hit! .

CD Reviews

Glam Nuggets
Gregory Breit | San Diego, CA USA | 06/20/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"That subject line is the best way I can think of to describe this collection. The "Nuggets" collections summarize the second- and third-tier bands that formed as a result of the British Invasion bands. "Boobs" collects singles by the second- and third-tier glam rock bands that formed as a result of Bowie, T-Rex, Slade, etc. These are mostly British, and mostly one-hit wonders. You'll hear tunes that sound Bowie-ish, Kiss-ish, Sweet-ish -- crunchy guitars all over. Lots of fun.

Does anyone know if the "Angel" on this collection is the same band Zappa makes fun of on "Punky's Whips?" The liner notes give the name of the guys in the band, but no Punky Meadows..."
Glam at It's Best!
Scott Armstrong | Chicago | 02/11/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"If you like T. Rex, Gary Glitter, or any of the mainstream "Glam" bands of the 70's, you will absolutely love this comp. from start to finish. I have never heard of almost any of the artists and now I want all of their albums."
