That's not to say you won't find a beach-full of traditional themes and melodies as well. "Papia-Tahiti Nui" includes a near-tsunami of instrumental motifs found on folk music samplers like the Dancing Cat label's Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Masters CDs, though here the unnamed performer flings out high-spirited riffs on an electric lap steel guitar instead of an acoustic instrument. The arrangements are crisp, clean, and to the point, relying on strummed guitar, steel guitar, vocals, and plenty of energy.
