What happened to all the music?

"I watched the TV "movie" on VH1 that this soundtrack comes from, but why did they cut out so many songs? La Bamba, Grease, Great Balls of Fire, Time Warp, and Proud Mary, were the all I liked. And that's about half. It's a disco album with a few rock n' roll songs thrown in."

The songs on the CD are great, but.........

"When I bought this CD, I expected to hear great movie songs. I got what I wanted. However, there were so many great movie songs that were left out. "Staying Alive","Old Time Rock'N Roll", and "Flashdance(What A Feeling)" are just a few of the songs that are left out! They should have included "Purple Rain" also!"
