"Valerie Carter, perhaps best known today as one of James Taylor's backup singers, turned out just three albums. Two (this one, and WILD CHILD) are MUST HAVES for anyone's collection. (Her 1996 "The Way It is" is solid, but I'd buy the older ones first.) EVERY time I play one of her CD's, people immediately want to know "WHO is THIS?!", accompanied by words like "WHOA!", or "AWESOME!".

Both of Carter's earlier albums were recognized by audio experts as being well-produced and arranged, high quality recordings. High end audio salons all over the country included them among their "demo" albums. The audio quality has been maintained in the CD's, as well as all of the original liner notes - something you don't always get with today's mass-produced, formerly-LP, CD's.

These imports are well worth their higher-than-normal purchase price.

"Why do I have to order all my favorite lost records from the Japanese? Who cares -- thank you!

This one is a lost gem, a treasure to be savored with a fine wine and some cheese, lights low, candles flickering, with the loved one of your choosing.

Valerie's voice is an amazing instrument- at turns warm, powerful, soulful, playful, enchanting. Great arrangements and fine song selection make this a powerhouse record that will surprise and delight you.

Please make some more records Valerie!"
Valerie's voice is an instrument all it's own. Sweet, gentl

"How Valerie Carter emerged from the singer-songwriter era of the early '70s without becoming a major superstar is absolutely beyond me. I recommend this record, I recommend Wild Child, and if you can get it through the import process from Japan (again, go figure, an American artist can't sell in the USA but the Japanese seem to recognize her talent), I highly recommend the live record "Midnight Over Honey River.""
