The Best Brazilian Band Ever!!!
11/27/1998
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Legião Urbana is one of those bands that can't die. Their CDs are being sold a lot, ever after Renato Russo's death. He was the best poet of brazilian rock, and this title made him one of the most important musicians in our music. His albuns inspire poets and musicians (like me) to try to do what he did. This album, "Uma Outra Estação", is one of the most varied albuns from Legião. Very good pop songs ("As Flores do Mal", "Comédia Romântica"), very emotional ballads ("Clarisse", "Antes das Seis") and also a very good song in English ("Mariane"). If you can, buy all of their CDs, because each one is better than the other. Renato Russo has also two solo albums, one in English ("The Stonewall Celebration Concert" - oh yes, he was bissexual) and one in Italian ("Equilíbrio Distante"). I think there is also a solo in Portuguese, called "O Último Solo" ("The Last Solo"). Even if you don't speak Portuguese, buy it!"
The Leader of all Teens
11/18/1998
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Legião Urbana, such an old band, with such young fans. It's incredible how the lyrics of R. Russo can express love itself so well. "The lyrics talk about a love that Russo could never have." This album in a CD full of unreleased tracks from the band, some that even doesn't have R.R.'s vocals in it. Just think of it, some of the songs of this guys used to have Bible passages with passages from a poem from the fifteenth century, and it made incredible success. He was a guy with a open and unique mind, that could make songs like angels would like to, in a young rhythm, leading the teens to his shows and thoughts. Anyone can enjoy it. URBANA LEGIO OMNIA VINCIT."
Great Album, Great Band

"Boy, I can't help but think that if these guys were American or English, they would have been the band of the last two decades. Of course, if they had been American or English, they wouldn't have been as good, either. As it stands, consider yourself _very_ fortunate to have discovered this Brazilian gem of a group. Buy the record and cuddle up with someone who speaks portuguese; you'll never look at rock the same again."
