Synopsis

Album Description
Tyrannosaurus Sue: A Cretaceous Concerto is a musical impression of the life and times of the prehistoric predator which roamed the earth 67 million years ago. A dramatic chamber symphony in seven narrative scenes, Tyrannosaurus Sue introduces young listeners to the story of dinosaurs as well as the world of concert music. The T-rex is portrayed by the trombone, the parasaurolophus by the bassoon, the troodon by the clarinet and the triceratops by the French horn. Commissioned by the Chicago Chamber Musicians for the unveiling of the T. rex skeleton at the Field Museum in Chicago, Sue's story will inspire young audiences to learn more about natural history and about music.
