Album Description
The Two Lone Swordsmen (Andrew Weatherall & Keith Tenniswood) started life during downtime at the Sabres of Paradise studio and rapidly turned into an official fighting force with their move to a luxurious HQ/studio above a dry cleaners in Chiswick. It was here that Swordsmen's spasm-driven machine funk, fueled by fumes from the establishment below, began to really take shape, culminating in the release of 'Stay Down' on Warp. Shortly after 'Stay Down' the Swordsmen relocated to East London to feed on the sex-and-money atmosphere of the square mile. The Rotters Golf Club studio has seen the bulk of Weatherall/Tenniswood productions and is currently vibrating to the sound of a new Swordsmen album in the making. From estate to Golf Club, the Two Lone Swordsmen have peppered spastic magic over Spiritualized, Death In Vegas, Paul Weller, Beth Orton, Primal Scream, Stereo MCs, Texas, Luke Slater and many more - more than was realized, in fact, until a session in the Golf Club vaults. Blowing the dust off of some old chestnuts whilst getting a wedding reception together, Mr. Weatherall began to put aside an ever-growing pile of Swordsmen remix vinyl. Over the following days, the tracks were compiled onto disc, and after stringent road-testing, the first of these compilations is finally ready for release...
