Mandalay accident

"My wife and I attended a Gypsy Kings Concert at Mandalay bay in Las Vegas. Great concert, but a bit short, so we headed inside the casino to have a couple of drinks. We had a tuff time finding seats at the first "lounge" so we headed for another and although it was crowded we were able to snag a table right in front of the small stage. The stage was quite crowded with an elaborate drum set-behind plexi, four guitars- perched on stands, a relatively small keyboard set-up and a six string bass guitar. We settled in and waited for our drinks and the musicians to show up. The drinks were average but the music was incredible. Four Technical masters effortlessly spun a web of riffs and chops that held a lounge full of jaded Vegas hedonists' hostage for their entire set. This included a few of the Gypsy King band members, who I spotted poking there heads in to see where the audio magic was coming from. No flashy light shows, smoke and mirrors or theatrics just a seamless roller coaster ride of notes, rhythm, and musical prowess that dropped my jaw. We heard the name of the band despite the applause and cheers "Turning Point". Well, needless to say I was impressed and had to have more, I think you will too if you appreciate fine musicianship that combines sophistication with the primal rhythms of numerous musical styles. I recommend you buy the CD and try to see these guys if they get to your neck of the woods. I realize now that we were lucky not to find a place to sit in that first lounge, But that's Vegas and "Luck"."
Hot in Chicago

"Heard about this group while watching the morning news, for things to do in the city. Went to see and met with the group the same night, at an afterwork set. We were knocked off our feet by their smooth jazz style, mixed with a latin twist. My wife and I became instant converts, and would highly recommend any smooth jazz follower to add Turning Point to your must get list. I give them a five star rating, and have added them to my collection you should to."
