"British heavy metal band Trojan emerged just as the famous New Wave of British Heavy Metal Scene (NWOBHM) scene was coming to a close. Trojan brought a hard-charging, fast-paced power metal sound that was clearly influenced by Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Saxon and Motorhead.

Originally released in 1985, Chasing the Storm was Trojan's first (and only) album. It's one of those albums where you know what you're getting (and that you're going to love it) right from the start. Speedy guitar riffs, high-pitched vocals, clichéd metal lyrics...oh yeah, this is my kind of album. File this alongside Cloven Hoof, Raven and Grim Reaper in that you know it's cheesy, but you just don't care because it's just so gloriously metal.

If you're a fan of the NWOBHM and post-NWOBHM British heavy metal sound, you'll definitely want to check out Chasing the Storm, especially now that it has been reissued and remastered.

NOTE: Metal Mind reissued Chasing the Storm in 2007 with digitally remastered audio. The reissue comes in a numbered digipack with expanded liner notes, and is limited to 2000 numbered copies. There are no bonus tracks, but the remastered sound quality is bonus enough. I'm not even sure this album was ever released on CD before, so this reissue is good news for fans of British heavy metal.
