"What can I say to describe this album? I come from what used to be Oriente province. This is IT, the real music of the countryside of Cuba. This is the music that makes any sensitive cuban cry, remembering happy times past. The Trio Matamoros is a legend in the island. These men were part of a select group of original musicians that laid the foundation for what cuban music is today. I have old LPs by this group and you notice their progression to perfection. This album, I believe, reflects their music once they had reached the TOP: sheer perfection in execution. The selections are extremely clear and sharp. For those that love cuban music, you MUST buy this one...
