Synopsis

Product Description
This fascinating disc from the Trio Chausson features some of the very few pieces Chopin ever wrote for an instrument other than the piano. The Introduction et Polonaise brillante for cello and piano was written in 1829, when Chopin was only 19 years old. The trio, whilst not considered Chopin s greatest work, has firmly established itself in the piano trio repertoire. Liszt is not a composer known for his chamber music. Tristia is an arrangement for piano trio by Edward Lassen of the sixth of the piano collection the Années de pèlerinage. Liszt apparently revised Lassen s arrangement more than once, adding some more of his own material.
