"This was Trick Daddy's first cd that they took of the market and now you can buy it again. Its not as good as his newer albums and you wont hear the same people on it. It doesn't have much from sns but you will her jt money on a couple tracks. This is a good debut album and anyone who liked trick daddys other cds i would say this is a must have."
Trick's best album: True Story

"Trick Daddy was at his best when he first came out. No disrespect to his later releases but this one was when he was making songs with a purpose and not making songs that make no sense(think Sugar). The album starts off with Based On A True Story(part 1) where Trick recalls what his brother's last moment living must have been like before he was gunned down(Rip Hollywood) and it leads off into part 2 of Based On A True Story where he tells of how he coped with the news of his fallen brother. Buddy Roe, Trick's best friend, makes a lot of apearances on here but he is actually pretty good and it shows on tracks like Bout A Lotta Thangs, Kill-A-Head, Going Down Like That etc. Jamal of Def Squad fame joins Trick and Buddy Roe on Snowin In Miami and Jt Money makes two appearances on here with Smoke Out and Pimp. Trick Daddy lets Buddy Roe get his chance to shine on I Got Plans and he did a good job. The only track I couldnt stand is the grotesque I'll Be Your Player. There is a reason why they call him "the freakiest freak of all freaks" and that song explains it a little too vividly. Trick ends the album with Verb in a song that starts of with the two of them talking about some nasty broads and ends up in a diss fest where the both of them diss the pants off Luke and for those of you who didnt know, that song is called Gone With Your Bad Self. Bottom Line: Trick Daddy's Based On A True Story was a classic. Trick not only poured out his heart and soul into this album, he also had fun(which is something a lot of rappers have a hard time doing today). Standout Tracks: BASED ON A TRUE STORY(parts 1&2), OH ME OH MY, BOUT A LOTTA THANGS, THEY DONT LIVE LONG, KILL-A-HEAD, GOIN DOWN LIKE THAT, SNOWIN IN MIAMI, I GOT PLANS, HO BUT YOU CANT HELP IT and GONE WITH YOUR BAD SELF."
STILL TRICK'S BEST ALBUM!

"TRICK DADDY'S DEBUT ALBUM IS STILL HIS BEST. I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYBODY SAYS. ALL HIS BEST STUFF IS ON HERE, LIKE ''KILL
AHEAD'' [WHICH IS THE BEST TRACK ON THE WHOLE CD], ''PIMP'', BOTH OF THE TITLE TRACKS, ''GOIN DOWN LIKE THAT'', AND DEFINITELY ''HO BUT YOU CAN'T HELP IT''. WITH HIS 2PAC-LIKE FLOW AND SOME BUMPIN BEATS, TRICK DADDY IS AT HIS BEST ON THIS ALBUM. A DEFINITE MUST-HAVE FOR ALL TRICK DADDY FANS."
