Synopsis

Album Description
Cathouse Records Presents: Travis Matte grew up in the Heart of cajun Country, Church Point, Louisiana; a central location for the cultural music scene ? Travis was one of two boys in the Matte family of Patrick and Judy. With a desire to play music, Travis first started playing guitar and then in 1992 purchased his first fiddle, which lead to 4 CFMA Fiddler of the Year Awards along with other CFMA awards. Travis expanded his musical skills when he began playing the diatonic accordion and with this gave him the knowledge to also master other instruments such as steel guitar, bass guitar and also drums. Married to Alison and raising his son Janson, Travis has become one of the most sought after musicians in the area; having played or recorded with several established musicians/bands, such as Belton Richard, Jason Frey/Travis Matte and Lagniappe, Wayne Toups, Sherly Cormier, Jay Cormier, Blaine Roy, Kip Sonnier, Jamie Bergeron, Hunter Hayes, Robert Jardell, Jackie! Callier and including three great friends that have sadly passed away ? Kevin Squire, Marcus Boudreaux and Kenneth Thibodeaux. Influenced by several genres of music such as Cajun, Zydeco, Swamp Pop, Rock, Country, and Alternative, Travis just doesn't like one style of music, instead he just appreciates good music played well!
