Travis clearly has some serious chops but uses them primarily to execute his musical ideas. What I like best is the ensemle playing...the music is written for a group of 3 talented musicians who sound big and play tight. While the CD showcases Travis' playing, you never get the feel that he's just blowin' notes over some oom-pah accompaniment. I'm not one to put anyones music in a little box, so I'll just comment that the influences I hear are rock, jazz, prog, fusion etc. I know that's rather broad but I think you get the idea. This is the kind of debut CD that makes one very anxious to hear what's in the pipeline. I must hear them live!"
