"This CD, "An Old Fashioned Christmas", is an album of sixteen instrumental Christmas songs plus one Hanukkah song, and includes two three-song medleys of traditional Christmas songs. If you are familiar with The Trail Band, then you will know what to expect: unique musical arrangements of traditional Christmas (and Hanukkah) songs performed with frontier-period acoustic instruments by very talented musicians from the Portland area. The bulk of the musical instruments are strings and wind instruments, but includes piano and percussion. If you are not familiar with The Trail Band, then think of the music on the "Prairie Home Companion", but with frontier-period instruments, and a sense of fun equal to the "Prairie Home Companion". Among the songs are: "I Saw Three Ships"; "Deck the Halls", "Bring a Torch, Jeanette Isabella"; "Lo, How A Rose E'er Blooming"; and "We Three Kings"."
