With members of the almighty Deathreat in tow (who's 'Severing..' album is one to cherish as well), Tragedy take the post-apocalyptic, brooding nature of HHIG, and shape it into a beast akin to their previous incarnation. But the true triumph of Tragedy is not so much their continuation of the HHIG mentality (of collapsing social structures amid the weight increasing technological dependence), but rather a growth of the sound that has expanded well beyond the simplicity of speed as power. Instead Tragedy barrel through dark melodies, thundering bass-heavy chunks, angst-ridden vocals, and melancholy moods with varying tempos and diverse compositions. And the result is truly astounding.
