KING FELIX ....is the title of the fourth album by Tracy & the Hindenburg Ground Crew. The phrase is lifted from the Philip K. Dick novel, VALIS ....was recorded from late October 1998 to early June 1999 by Danny McGough at his 16 track home studio in Eagle Rock CA...is sequenced in the order the songs were recorded ....was delayed for several days in late November when Tracy was robbed and stabbed in the neck walking to a club from his car to see the bass player from Camper Van Beethoven's new band. He spent three nights in the hospital as a consequence. When he went back to the scene to see if they'd dropped his wallet or glasses anywhere nearby, he found the cassette of rough mixes of "Accident You" and "After Forever" he was bringing for a friend that night in a trash can. The police dusted it for prints unsuccessfully. The suspects were never found. The cassette was released from police custody in May, 1999. To date, he has still not seen the bass player from Camper Van Beethoven's new band. ...was recorded at the same time Danny was recording, variously, The Negro Problem, the Tuffies, his own band, Candypants, and Cheeseburger. He was also playing on recordings for Luscious Jackson and Ambrosia Parsley's Shivaree. Recording was again delayed in March when Danny auditioned for and ended up playing with Tom Waits at the SXSW Music Festival in Austin. He is currently touring America and Europe with Waits.
