Suzie leblanc and friends sing and play great music from can
K. Sanderson | Adelaide, Australia | 05/28/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Classically trained Suzie Leblanc and a group of great musicians have put together a varied collection of songs (in French) from Atlantic Canada plus reels and jigs, which reflect some of the history of the French speaking people who settled in this part of Canada and were later deported from Acadia. This collection will appeal to a wide age range - the 6 and 8 year old children of a friend refused to leave their car for morning drop-off at school until one of the instrumental pieces finished on Australian classic FM radio. It is such a varied collection of styles, some very oviously celtic in flavour and some with a medieval flavour, that it makes very interesting listening, over and over again."

"I bought the CD after I heard a track on the BBC. An attractive collection of songs and dances. Highly recommended. Only complaint - the liner notes duplicated 8 pages and omitted the correct 8 pages - the pages which included the English translation!"
