"Frankly,

I would lie if I said I like the more new age/indian oriented numbers as much as enjoy the purer jazz tracks from this album, but Scott is such an expressive musician (and his group is equally impressive) that I must recommend it to everyone, with a word of caution:



If you're a jazz purist, you might have a problem with one part of the album, if you're a new age oriented listener, you might have a problem with another part of the album!



However, although basically a purist, I like the entire CD; both the immortal jazz standards (on "Sophisticated Lady" Scott even tries on a baritone sax) and the new-age-world music oriented part...

And yes, both My Funny Valentine and Satin Doll are jazz perfection..."
