Synopsis

Album Description
Tony Janflone Jr. extols musical excitement from the first chord struck to the final encore. Tony is a young guitarist, singer, songwriter, and arranger who is as serious and driven personally as his music will attest. He has recently released his newest CD, "In Time," which he produced, recorded, and mixed himself. Included on the recording are guest artists Phil Madeira (Amy Grant, Michael McDonald, Phil Keaggy), John Sferra (Phil Keaggy, The Glass Harp) and Donnie Iris (The Jaggers), along with regular band members George Elliott (bass) and Tom Salyers (keys). Music has always been an integral part of life to Tony, having been exposed from an early age to all types of music by his father, Tony Sr. (also a guitarist). He listened, absorbed, and developed into what many have called an intense player, yet very tuned into his fans, as he performs to standing room only audiences up and down the East Coast. Tony is an inveterate guitarist with an ability to deliver his vocals sensitively when needed or confidently blues-driven as the gig heats up. He has garnered national attention by appearing on BET's "Jazz On BET." Tony and his band were invited to perform at the 1994 Major League All Star pre-game Gala, and the Pittsburgh Pirates Organization at the All Star Game. He was the featured guitarist on PBS' "Heroes" documentary with Fred Rogers. His composition "Hey, Wake Up!" from his "Pieces" CD, was broadcast in the summer of 1995 as the opening theme song for the Molson 500 on ABC TV. Impressive credentials, but truly earned, as Tony's music resounds .
