CD Reviews

NOT Tony Banks best solo work, but still works
T. Moura | Belo Horizonte - MG - brazil | 09/30/2005
(3 out of 5 stars)

"The fugitive is definitely more like an experiment than anything else. A short song, strictly pop album experience. When it came out in '83 it must have shocked fans, because it was a complete departiture form his first solo album, the brilliant "A Curious Feeling". I was quite shocked myself when I first heard it. I thought it sounded awful then. But after a few listenings you end up finding yourself changing your mind. As anything Banks did solo, I must say. The Fugitive has some nice songs and grows on you every time your hear it. I still think he made better works afterwards, specially the wonderful Stricly Inc CD, but that's just my opinion. Anyway, this is the only CD Tony Banks sings all the songs (He handles the vocals very well most of the time, even if his voice has lots of effects, just like Mike rutherford in his one shot singing solo project Acting Very Strange). Different yes, but still worth the price you pay."
