"If you've never listened to what I like to call 'gypsy brass band music', this is a very super album to pick up. If, on the other hand, you like kocani orkestar, and crave more of the same but different, this is the album for you! If you're a 'Dirty Dozen' fan who thinks they've kind of tamed themselves down .... head for borderlands!

These guys solo a lot, yet they have a staggeringly good ensemble sound -- amazing for such a small group. 'Ed Blackwell' connects you to their idea of jazz: it's a nice tribute to a really great New Orleans drummer. Every track is excellent -- pure straight-ahead gypsy. What other brass band music makes you wanna dance?"
