CD Reviews

A Real Talent!

"Wow, the truth is Tommy is plainly talented! I bought his CD a month ago and simply love it! There is not a single song that I skip when I play the CD! Tommy writes the lyrics and the music, plays the guitar, does choruses and makes the musical arrangements. A true talent, unlike other puertoricans that are manufactured dolls, that perform a the songs and have a cute face. Tommy Torres is a master. I WOULDN'T THINK ABOUT IT TWICE IF I WERE YOU... BUY IT! :)"

"I picked this album up after hearing the single "Como Olvidar" on the radio and I was thrilled to find that the other songs on this album were just as strong if not stronger than this hit. Mr. Torres' skills as a musician and songwriter are first rate. There is not a bad song on this album...no filler material here. (In fact, my LEAST favorite song is the very first one!) Some of the songs take a couple of listenings to get into (Penelope being a good example....by the way Tommy...is this an ode to Miss Cruz....tu eres mi LUZ....tu eres mi CRUZ?? I couldn't help but notice!). The chord changes are a bit confusing at first as is the melody, but after a few listenings, I was hooked. To me, that's what good songs are made of! And the songs "No me digas que no" and "Nunca imagine" are just plain beautiful. "Hoy te vas" and "Ella dice" join "Como Olvidar" as straight-forward, strong pop songs and "Tres de Abril" rounds out the album with a super-funky groove and some awesome guitar playing. I'm sold...my only regret now is that I have to wait for his next release! Great work Mr. Torres....thank you for the music!"
