Synopsis

Album Description
Songwriter Tom Sheehan?s new 19 North Records release, "Film at Eleven," is not your typical pop music fare. The follow-up to his critically acclaimed debut, "Where You Are," "Film at Eleven" chronicles a life of hope, tempered by the reality that experience brings. "Black Ice," the first single from "Film at Eleven," speaks in the first person about addiction, but in terms of its impact on a relationship: "Baby, for the life of me, I don?t know why you stay," is the opening line. "Coup d?état" presents an Oliver Stone "ish" take on the Kennedy Assassination. And the album?s most chilling moment is "On the Inside," a spooky, frightening song about the Columbine tragedy in Colorado. The final line of the song, which comes at the conclusion of an eery David Cullen guitar solo, will leave you positively shaken. Even his songs about relationships carry a different, adult point of view. "Here We Go Again" is a beautifully simple ballad about rediscovered love. "Don?t Lie to Me," a scorching, sultry slow blues, covers the betrayed trust of adultery. And the album?s closer, "True to You," is an almost spiritual, devotional piece Sheehan wrote for his wife when she decided that she wanted to have another child at age 40. The trade press has heaped critical praise on Sheehan. John Schoenberger, writing in the influential radio industry trade magazine, "Album Network," said "Tom Sheehan is an artist that you need to know about." "totallyadult", another important industry magazine, said "Just like the nightly news, Tom Sheehan delivers." And the Los Angeles Music Connection said "Tom Sheehan is our mouthpiece?it rocks!" At Adult Rock and Major College Radio, "Film at Eleven" is gaining fast acceptance along side new releases by such industry heavyweights as The Wallflowers, U2, Mark Knopfler, Paul Simon and Lenny Kravitz with over 100 Adult Rock and Major College radio stations playing the record. Bottom line: if you like music that makes you think, music that is provocative, with lyrics that are intelligent, then Tom Sheehan and "Film at Eleven" are for you.
