Tom Principato Band "Live in Europe 1988" captures a particularly inspired night in Germany performed during the years when Tom and his band first became prominent in Europe and the U.S. in the mid-1980's, through the world-wide release of their first two albums "Smokin'!" and "I Know What You're Thinkin'..." Most of the material here is live versions and sometimes extended renditions of material from these two albums such as "Blue Lights", and the Band's enormously popular take on Sonny Landreth's "Congo Square" (recorded years before the Neville Bros. and John Mayall),as well as some vintage blues and R&B chestnuts such as Albert King's "Cold Women With Warm Hearts", a smoking version of Tiny Bradshaw's "Well Oh Well", and a re-working of Louis Jordan's "Saturday Night Fish Fry".
