Synopsis

Album Description
The third release from critically acclaimed recording artist Tom McCormack showcases this powerhouse performer and songwriter with songs about identity, love, loss and finding 'home.' From the title song (recently featured in the film David Searching starring Anthony Rapp and Camryn Manheim) which enjoins the listener to a path of self-discovery, to the anthemic Coming about a mid-life coming out of a married lesbian, to the healing lullabye of I Love You More - this cd is for everyone, offering universal themes packaged in a gorgeous soundscape of piano, guitar and more. With backup support from co-producer Steve Sandberg (a musician who has toured with Ruben Blades and David Byrne), guitarist Adam Rogers, vocalists Sally Ries (Oscar) and Lisa Lowell (Buster Poindexter, Bruce Springsteen), accordionist Charlie Giordano (Cyndi Lauper), mandolin player Barry Mitteroff, drummer Gary Ciuzio, and guest appearances by many from New York's downtown queer music scene -- Grant King, Melinda DiMaio, Jeff Krassner, Andrea Katz, Patrick Arena and others - Missing is an aural treat that bears repeated listening. It balances musical textures while keeping the songs and their meaning at the forefront of the mix. With a sound and songwriting style that people have compared with Tori Amos, 10,000 Maniacs, Tracy Chapman, James Taylor and Peter Gabriel, McCormack has won the hearts & minds of critics and fans alike. He has shared the stage with artists including Janis Ian, Catie Curtis, SONiA of disappear fear, and Phoebe Snow, has played colleges, clubs and festivals across the country and has been heard on radio nationwide. McCormack is also co-creator and executive producer of GLAMA, the Gay/Lesbian American Music Awards.
