CD Reviews

A beautiful voice, but the album gets monotonous
T. Halkin | Munich, Germany | 12/16/2001
(3 out of 5 stars)

"I haven't heard a man's voice this pretty since Art Garfunkel was young. However, the album tends to be soft and low-keyed. After the third song, they all start sounding alike. Tom Andersen needs to get excited occasionally! I don't regret buying this CD, but I will only listen to excerpts from it the future."
His CD was a present, and his voice is a gift
W. Budris | 12/25/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"A friend just gave me this CD as an early Christmas present and I love it. Mr. Andersen's liquidly high tenor just floats so effortlessly in Rodgers and Hammerstein's ''Ten Minutes Ago.'' I also relish ''I Will Wait for You,'' kind of a gentle country love song, sung in his lower warmer register. The ballads are ultra-romantic, but the guy swings too. ''So Long I'm Gone'' is such a kick in the butt. And his ''All I Do Is Dream of You'' with the zingy fiddle arrangement is so fun. If Mr. Andersen is this entertaining on CD, I can't wait to see him in concert."
MARVELOUS DEBUT CD
W. Budris | Rosedale, NY | 01/13/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I've recently discovered the great talent that is Tom Andersen via other fans. Besides the covers he does so beautifully, his talent as a songwriter is also a blessing for the ears. TEN MINUTES AGO from Rodgers & Hammerstein's "Cinderella" takes on a new dimension in the ballad department. Granted a waltz in the TV Special, here it is a lilting breeze with the punch of "Oh Wow" when you discover you are in love. It heavily rivals Jane Olivor's "Some Enchanted Evening" from back in 1976....that powerful. The entire CD has a great calming effect. I recommend it highly."
