Album Description Straight out of NYC's East Village is the self-released debut from this low-key master. Includes his now cult hit jokes about Fugazi and MTV's Diary. Over an hour of fantastic material previously only available at his live shows. Barry was 2003's "It Standup" on the Entertainment Weekly "It List". He's appeared on Letterman, Conan, Last Call, Comedy Central's Friar's Roast of Chevy Chase, Space Ghost Coast-To-Coast, and in his own Comedy Central Presents special. Acting credits include The Larry Sanders Show, Sex And The City, Spin City, Chappelle's Show, Road Trip, and Pootie Tang. He's also done cartoon voice work on Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Home Movies, and Hey Monie. He also produced (with David Cross) the comedy/variety show Tinkle. Vaughn Deyhle | 08/14/2006 (5 out of 5 stars) "I want to say first off that I'm not one of those guys that just slaps everything I like with a FIVE STAR rating. I give this a FIVE because it really deserves it. Here's why I bought the album: I was in a Beast Buy, checking out comedy CDs, saw this guy who I never heard of but the album was $9.99. OK, cheap. I look at the track titles and I see a track with the name "FUGAZI." My first thought is "Fugazi as in the band, Fugazi?" I LOVE FUGAZI, a truly great band ... but they might be the most un-funny band on the face of the earth. I'm thinking if someone managed to come up with comedy material about Fugazi, this I gotta see. As it turns out, the Fugazi bit had me howling, great joke, but you'll have to find out for yourself. And the rest of the CD is superb too. The man has a delivery style just a notch above hypnosis but the desert dry sarcasm slices through beautifully. I'm a fan of SOLID WRITING in stand-up and Barry's material is well thought out. He is also skilled with interacting with the audience. These are small club recordings which is definitely the best environment for most comedy CD recordings, especially for performers like Barry. I can't recommend BOTH of Barry's albums strongly enough, please do check him out."
