Synopsis
Amazon.com The 1997 Academy Award winner for Best Dramatic Score, James Horner's Titanic was the first soundtrack to reach the No. 1 slot on the Billboard charts in two decades; it also seemed to rival the Big Mac in sales for the year. And what can we say about Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On"; would "ubiquitous" suffice? Horner's combination of synths, chorale, and orchestra perfectly underscores the action in director James Cameron's 20th-century melodrama. It's a finely honed piece of Hollywood craftsmanship from a composer who has tackled more musically adventuresome projects in his career. FYI: Horner's follow-up to Titanic was the score for a different disaster: Deep Impact. --Jerry McCulley Similar CDsSimilarly Requested CDs

Member CD ReviewsReviewed on 1/13/2013... Music is absolutely gorgeous! Love it! Reviewed on 4/1/2007... Great soundtrack .. 2 of 5 member(s) found this review helpful. Reviewed on 1/24/2007... James Horner creates another fine soundtrack, beautiful songs. In particular "Leaving Port," "Rose," and "Never An Absolution." (though all the songs are quite lovely) If you like Horner's past work, it will not disappoint! 8 of 8 member(s) found this review helpful.
CD ReviewsExcellent soundtrack!! Stephen Schultz | Greenville, SC USA | 03/11/2010 (5 out of 5 stars) "I realize that I'm a tad late on writing this review since the movie came out 13 years ago. But, better late than never right? Even after 13 years, the movie is still awesome. One of the specs that made it awesome and also won an academy award was its musical score. It won 11 academy awards in fact, including best picture. Bottom line, if you don't own it, even after 13 years it's not too late! Go and buy it along with the soundtrack. Both of them are superb. The movie is great to watch and the music is griping to listen too. Every year I drag this out of the closet and watch it. And every time I am still moved by the music and cinematography. Definitely a must own!"
