Synopsis

Album Description
Tishamingo, a leader among the new wave of Southern rockers, have signed with Magnatude Records (an imprint of Magna Carta). Their new album Wear N? Tear, produced by David Barbe (Drive by Truckers) and mixed by John Keane (Widespread Panic, R.E.M., Stockholm Syndrome) will be released on February 1, 2005. Wear N? Tear has a strong Southern Rock flavor mixed with good old blues-based rock ?n? roll, skillful jamming, soulful singing and honest lyrics. You?ll hear how the music of the late ?60?s and early ?70?s, as well as growing up in the swampy wetlands of northern Florida, has influenced the band?s playing and writing. Listen to their cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Poison Whiskey" on the MP3 Page.

CD Reviews

Great cd !!!
Mario G. Mejia | Houston, Texas United States | 10/15/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I agree, if you are into soulful music like Allman Bros. or Govt. Mule you can't go wrong with this terrific band. The nostalgy of the 70's is present everywhere. Great musicianship, awesome compositions, excellent interplay and a very good production. What else can you ask for?"
Another young great band!!
Jorge Del Rio Macias | Barcelona, Spain | 03/11/2005

""Wear N'Tear" is one of the biggest records of 2005. Fans of Widespread Panic and Gov'T Mule have another great band. This album sounds more southern than "Tishamingo" with pearls like "Wastin'Time", "Hillbilly Wine", Skynyrd's "Poison Whiskey" and "Billy". Joyfull instrumentals like "Rome" and the contry rock "Willin To Die/Legend Of George Nelson" make this record one of the most especial things of this year. Southern rock and jam band fans has in Tishamingo one of the greatest bands in this century."
