Synopsis

Product Description
Mike Einziger says: "Time Lapse Consortium is an idea that had been swirling around in my brain for quite some time. For years I've been fascinated by the great bandleaders and arrangers of the 50's and 60's. People such as Quincy Jones, Esquivel, Sergio Mendes, etc.... With all of those instruments, it's like being able to paint a picture with many different colors. It's a very different experience from writing music for a standard rock and roll setup. I teamed up with my longtime musical buddy Suzie Katayama, who wrote the beautiful string and wind arrangements on Aqueous Transmission, as well as other songs on the Morning View album. As well as Jose, Ben Kenney, and Neal Evans (who is probably the most talented organ player I've ever seen.) With only three days of rehearsal, and a genuine excitement in the air, we did a performance at the Roxy Theatre in Hollywood, CA on January 24, 2003. The show was one of the best musical experiences I've ever had." Tracks: Grimace, Cholula, Come Back Boomerang, Flapjack, TCB'N, I Done Already Been Up In There, A Certain Shade of Green, Patrollin', Mai Tai, and Tres Puntos.

CD Reviews

An Incubus fans dream!!
James W. Rusley | 07/02/2006
(4 out of 5 stars)

"If you did not know it already this is basically incubus without Brandon Boyd (lead singer of Incubus). This is a live show of songs written by Mike Einziger (lead guitarist of Incubus)and in addition to Brandon not being there, Alex Katunich (bassist of Incubus) is replaced by Ben Kenney (former lead guitarist of The Roots). The concert is actually an audition for Ben to see if he was a good fit for incubus which is now known that he is.

Now for the review. This cd is great if you like the Halo soundtrack stuff that incubus did. kind of a jam band feeling with it. If you do not like that then this is not the cd for you. Only one song has lyrics to it and that is when Brandon comes for a suprise visit to sing on an incubus song. They play "A Certain Shade of Green," which is the highlight of the cd. It is not the normal version at all. If you have heard Incubus's live acoustic cd which is only available on the internet it is like that version of the song but with electric guitar.

If you are like me when I was looking for this cd, which I was only looking for a cd that could keep me busy until the next official Incubus cd came out, then it is perfect. it is good solid music that wont change the world but it's very entertaining.

If you are not looking for a cd the way I was and you havent heard of Incubus then I suggest getting their cds first. My personal favorite is Morning view. If you have heard of Incubus, which I am betting you have, and you dont like their music then i still suggest you get this album because it is not like their music at all. It is just good intrumental music.

If you cannot find this cd anywhere then you can get it over the internet and if you are looking for more incubus and dont have the acoustic cd i also suggest you get that."

"I am so stoked to finally have found this. It is an incredable album and one that is needed by anyone who says they are a fan of Incubus."
