Synopsis

Product Description
Uncle Tim is at it again. Well, he's not really your uncle, and that's one of the reasons Thanksgiving always sucks. If you're ever lucky enough to have this guy over for dinner, just make sure meat is on the table and the overly sensitive are not on the guest list. Europa is Slagle's first CD release, and follows up a nearly two decade career of barnstorming across our great nation. He even managed to get long-time Mad Magazine illustrator Jack Davis to render the beauty of Europe as the cover art. As a veteran of the comedy club circuit, Tim Slagle has been called many things: political satirist, pothead, fascist, carnivore and probably more than a few times an annoying drunk, although we can't verify that. One word that cannot define him is illogical. His insight on drugs, science, vegetarians, cartoons and hunger not only provide an hour of laughter, but also make you wonder why the hell people like him aren't running our country. Slagle in '08? Sounds nice, but there's probably a limit on how many drinks the President can legally consume. So gather up your friends, pack up the bong, and make sure there are fresh steaks on the grill. Uncle Tim is coming to dinner.

CD Reviews

Great Stuff

"I agree with Steve Johnson. I've also been a fan of Tim Slagle's for over 20 years and this album is fresh and as funny as ever. He has new bits that are even more dramatic, thought-provoking and gut-bustingly funny!

Slagle's libertarian take on political, social, economic and personal issues is so refreshing. He pokes the most amazing fun at more mainstream bs than you can imagine. The language and topics he deals with on this cd are mostly R rated - so don't blindly get this one for the kiddies or the squeemish. But for any adults who need a great, intelligent hour or so of guffaws, you can't do better than Tim Slagle's Europa."
Just in time for holiday giving!

"Jesse Jackson says we don't want Kramer for Christmas. I can't speak to that, but I do wish Michael Richards all the best as he searches for the source of the rage, or rages against the machine, or whatever other nonsense he's been mouthing on his apology tour. I have a suggestion for him that might help: listen to the intelligent, thought-provoking comedy of Tim Slagle. By listening to the hilarious Europa, Mr. Richards can learn that it is possible to be politically incorrect, and delightfully so, without crossing the line into crazy, offensive ranting. The rest of us will just get the chance to laugh like crazy. Tim has a unique ability to succintly skewer the absurdities of modern life, including the well-intentioned but boneheaded ideas behind nanny state legislation and income redistribution schemes beloved by those who think we need to be protected from ourselves.

It's smart and funny at the same time! Sort of like some of the better episodes of Seinfeld, but it's definitely not about nothing. Vegetarianism, Europe, prostitution--and please don't miss the Viagra bit, which is priceless.

Thanks Tim for a terrific album!"
A whole new Slagle...

"In full disclosure, I've seen Tim Slagle perform several times, and am a fan. Slagle has been a standard on the midwest comedy circuit for years, to some success. But his new album, "Europa" offers comedy fans a whole new perspective on the journeyman comedian. The comedy is fresh, well-delivered and very, very funny. Having spent so many years in the business, it would've been easy for Slagle to simply assemble some "greatest hits" and slap them together. It would've been a decent album, but Europa shows us a brilliant comedian in transition, easily moving from established bits to risky, aggressive pieces that finally, after all these years, showcase Slagle's true talent and ambitious nature. Kudos to the production team, as well. This album, recorded live in Chicago, sounds perfect. Comedy fans of all political persuasions should take notice of Europa, and buy a copy today."
