CD Reviews

Thunder (should have been the next Bad Company)
06/22/2000
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Thunder had all the talent to be the next Bad Company (I say "had" because they broke up). Unfortunately, they released some excellent albums during the time the music scene was changing in the US. They did have a minor hit with the song "Dirty Love", but that was it. On "The Thrill Of It All", the band continues to rock and groove like they did on their previous efforts ("Behind Closed Doors", "Backstreet Symphony", and "Laughing on Judgement Day").Particular highlights include "Pilot of my dreams", "This Forgotten town", and "Love worth dying for". The only poorly written song in "Cosmetic Punk", which sounds like pure filler. The band experienced great success in Europe and Japan, but their lack of US support and sales eventually killed the band - it's too bad because they always released enjoyable recordings. If you like your rockers loud with strong lyrical content and your ballads smooth and enjoyable, then buy this CD."

"Makes you groove. Best rock band from the U.K. since Led Zeppelin !"

"I only discovered Thunder recently and have become what you may term an instant fan, and have now purchased 9 of their CD's in the last 6 weeks. Thrill is a great album but not their best by any means. Albums such as Robert Johnsons Tombstone and Laughing On Judgement Day are much stronger in content. But still, this one finds it's way onto the CD player regularly. Great band worth listening to."
